Kenny's Bio

Hi, I’m Kenny.

I’m a senior in the Creative Writing program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. I’m originally from Tampa, Florida, but I’ve been calling Illinois my home since 1998. I’ve lived all over the Northwest suburbs, from Palatine to Lakemoor to where I currently live back home, Mundelein.

When I first decided to apply for colleges, Illinois happened to be near the top of my list, just because I knew it was a good school, but after being invited to go on several visits, I fell in love with the campus. It felt like a place where I could really grow into my own. So during the fall of my senior year in high school, I applied and got admitted early into Illinois as a Biology major. Somewhere along the way, I found out that Biology wasn’t really for me, but that was fine because it allowed me to find a major that granted me the ability to follow my real passion; writing.

After four years of college I am hoping to pursue a position as a writer for a journal or magazine.

Besides going to class I am a member and former executive chair of LAS Leaders, a member of LAS Council, and a brother and former executive chair at the Alpha Chi Rho Social Fraternity. In my free time I love to go to the gym to work out or ball out on the courts, watch sports, listen to rap and R&B, read and write, and play video games.

There has never been a dull moment for me here at Illinois, and I cannot wait to share all of the exciting experiences that Illinois has to offer. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to comment below!
