Ashton's Bio

My name is Ashton. I am currently a sophomore in the College of Business where my majors are accountancy and finance, with a minor in technology and management. I have been provided with a wonderful opportunity to share my experiences as U of I Blogger! I selected the University of Illinois because of the academics, the administration, and the atmosphere. When you walk on a college campus for the first time I firmly believe that when you take your first step you must feel as if you belong. I felt this at U of I without even taking a step! Although I had many different schools to choose from, U of I skyrocketed to the top of my list. I am confident that I have made the right choice in my college decision.

As a student here, I find it very important to stay involved not only on campus but in the community as well. Socially speaking, I am the Executive Vice President of the first post secondary chapter of the National Black Masters in Business Administration. I am the social chair for the 100 Strong Program. I am an ambassador to the College of Business, a James Scholar, and a Business Buddy. I have a twin brother and we both are entrepreneurs. We are the creators of www.ludakicks.com and www.247mixtapes.com to name a few.

School is a major variable in my equation for success. I take academics very seriously. I often work hard, and play in-between. During the school year you will most likely find me studying or hosting school sponsored events. I have my own sense of humor and I am not afraid to show it. It is my goal by you reading my blog to continue to get to know me and see from my point of view why the U of I is such a great school! By the way, later on in the school year, I will reveal my equation for success. Keep reading!

The best is yet to come!
