What’s up, yawl?
My name is Chris Wallace, and I’m an admissions counselor at the University of Illinois. I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and graduated from Kenwood Academy High School. After high school, I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning.
I currently work in the Chicago Satellite Office, where I assist and recruit students who are interested in attending Illinois. In addition to recruitment, I provide outreach to many Chicagoland-area youth. I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives and help gear them toward achieving their aspirations.
Do I have a life outside work? I know you were wondering, and yes, I absolutely do! When I’m not helping students, you can typically find me at the gym or under the hood of an old car LBS. My father and I have a classic car restoration shop, where we transform dusty barn finds into marvelous works of art. Any other free time I have is spent with my child. When I say child, just know that I am referring to my dog, Migo!
