University Housing is your home for the Illinois experience! You have plenty of housing choices. Our 22 residence halls offer a range of lifestyle, architectural, and geographic options, so you are sure to find the place that fits you.
Living on campus means you will also have access to award-winning Dining Services through University Housing. And the University Housing meal plan is the only one at Illinois that allows you to eat in any dining hall on campus, regardless of where you live.
As soon as you know you are coming to the University of Illinois, we encourage you to apply for housing. We assign spaces in the order that we receive contracts, so do not delay! When you apply, you can let us know your preferences, for example: where you would like to live, in a Living-Learning Community or in a particular area of campus; a specific roommate; or amenities, such as an air-conditioned hall.
Your residence hall staff will be available starting on move-in day to help you navigate through your time on campus. They are experts in building community, and include both professional staff and more than 190 student staff members.
