Morgan's Bio

Hello! My name is Morgan, and welcome to my corner of the Illinois Admissions blog!

First, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio, which is a little over 5 hours away from Urbana-Champaign. When I was searching for colleges, I wanted to go to a fantastic engineering school and see more than just northwestern Ohio. So I looked at schools like the University of Michigan, Notre Dame, and the University of Illinois. When I came to visit Illinois in 2010, I was shown a beautiful campus and state-of-the-art engineering facilities. I knew then that I wanted to be an Illini.

Now I'm a senior in chemical and biomolecular engineering, completing my 4th year at Illinois! During my time as a student, I've spent a semester studying abroad in Swansea, Wales in the United Kingdom. I've also helped found a new engineering consulting group on campus called CUBE Consulting. I've become involved with the St. John's Catholic Newman Center on campus. I've even gone to a Cinderella-style ball with the deans of the College of Engineering and become a Knight of St. Patrick. At the same time, I've worked in 3 different campus jobs and held multiple internships that have helped to keep college costs low.

I hope that I can share with you how great the University of Illinois is in my blogs, and I invite you to ask as many questions as you can think of. Coming to Illinois, I knew no one and had no idea what to expect. As I finish my last year at Illinois, I will be sad to leave the place that has become my home and offered me so many opportunities. No matter where my future takes me, I will always be an Illini! I hope you too will continue to make the University of Illinois one of the best places on Earth by becoming a future Illini.
