Pumpkin Carving!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and it’s a shame that it only lasts for what seems like 2 weeks in the midwest. In order to capitalize on this time I like to take advantage of the season during its brief visit.

Halloween is certainly one of the most significant hallmarks of fall and this year I celebrated early by making jack-o-laterns and watching scary movies. I’m not one for scary movies so when my friends put on Insidious I was so terrified I barely looked at the screen. But of course at the most opportune moment I turn towards the screen and catch a glimpse of a mangled face. I scream loud enough for the 4 block radius to hear and everyone else in the room laughs at my inability to handle my fear. But once the movie was over I had some apple cider and pumpkin pie. We put our jack-o-laterns on display and marveled at the intricate designs. It was a great way to reminesce our childhoods and enjoy the magic of fall.

Alice you are so creative and intelligent. Scary movies make me nervous too. Especially the movie ‘Black Swan’. I do not like that movie. Too Scary
