Hey everyone, the T.E.A.M. Weekday Lunch Hour is making some significant changes! We will continue to meet at noon, Monday though Thursday, through September; however, we will no longer be meeting at the Union. We will be attending Lunchtime Discussions around campus!

Lunchtime Discussions are presentations held by each of the cultural programs from the Office of the Dean of Students. They take place either at the Union, or their respective culture house. It goes like this:

Monday - LGBT Resources - Illini Union Room 323 - “Colors of Pride”

Tuesday - Asian American Cultural Center/”Asian House” - 1210 W. Nevada St. - “Food for Thought”

Wednesday - Bruce D. Nesbitt African-American Cultural Center/”Black House”- 708 S. Matthews- “Lunch and Learn”

Thursday - La Casa Cultural Latina/”La Casa” - 1203 W Nevada - “Lunch @ La Casa”

What does all this mean? It means that everyday at noon you can not only have people to eat lunch with, but get introduced to campus resources and get a free lunch. I repeat, free food is available to you, among other perks, all you have to do is show up.

We also want to emphasize that you don’t have to belong to the culture to go to their house! Our regular Tuesday/Thursday group is black, asian, latino and white and we’ll be all over this, so come stand out with us!

Here is a map to show where the houses are. They’re basically located in a row on Nevada in Urbana, just east of the Foreign Language building (that big red building that gets larger as you go up). We’ll be meeting up at the houses/Union at 12. If you need directions just hit me up, or for short notice, give Samuel a call at: 847.513.1015. He says, “Feel free to ask me anything, and call if you’re running late or need directions!” We’ll be there, just look for the infamous orange cap…

On a side note, I just found this website, which may prove useful to prospective transfer students doing some preliminary research online: http://www.odos.uiuc.edu/resource/transfers/
