TRANSFER VISITS TO CAMPUS!!!

Hi transfer students!

After a whirlwind of travel out to some of your colleges, I am finally back in the office for a longer period of time so I can continue to relay info to you and answer your questions!

For those of you who I didn’t get to meet while out on the road, or if you’re just looking to come and visit us on campus, I wanted to give you a heads up about our last available Transfer Visit Programs this fall. On Friday, November 21st, beginning at 1 p.m., we are having a Transfer Visit Program. ***We are also having a Transfer Visit Program on Friday, December 12th at 1 p.m. This program will include a presentation from admissions that will tell you more about majors, campus life, and of course the admissions and transfer application process. You can also ask any questions that you have during our student panel and current students will give you their personalized responses. Finally, we will take you on a campus tour so you can see our main quad, residence halls, a lecture hall, and more! I highly recommend that you sign up ASAP if you still haven’t gotten to visit campus yet, you can sign up right here! https://myillini.illinois.edu/Visit/List/TransferStudentPrograms

goodmorning, I am responding because I am considering transferring to U of I next fall. However I see that at a sophomore level Biology isnt offered as a major. I currently have biology as a major. Is there anyway I can get biology as my major as a sophomore? If you can, please email me back. Thank you

Hi Toyannah,

When transfer students are applying for a biology program, they will need to specify their specific area of biology they would like to study. The two biology majors we have are Integrative Biology and Molecular and Cellular Biology. These will be the major selections on the application.

Hi April,

I am an international student, and I study accounting as my major in Skagit Valley College. I want to transfer to University of Illinois next year. Do I need to take TOEFL test? By the way, I already take English 101, and I will take English 104 next quater.

Thank you
Xinyi Xie

Hi Xinyi Xie,

Yes, you will still be required to submit an English Proficiency test score. You can read more information here http://admissions.illinois.edu/faq/international_transfer.html

Hi April!

I am currently enrolled in a dual degree program between Butler University and Purdue University at Indianapolis for degree biomedical engineering and chemistry in 5 years. I have discovered that chemical engineering is what I want to do and I am currently a junior an I would like to transfer in next fall. How does the University of Illinois handle with senior transfer admissions?

Thank you,
Stephen
