Hello! my name is Tyler, I recently decided that I am going to transfer from my current university to the University of Illinois. However, I realized I am a short 10 days past the deadline to apply for the Fall 2015 semester. I have my heart set on U of I and was wondering if there is any circumstance in which I could still apply for the Fall 2015 semester, since I am only 10 days past the deadline. Please get back to me as soon as possible, thank you so much!

Tyler – Yes, for students still interested in applying, a late petition needs to be completed. So here’s what you need to do –

Create a myIllini account if you haven’t already ( Select “Start New App” then “Transfer Application”. Instead of the application, a late petition will appear. Submit the petition and you will hear back from us within a few days letting you know if we are able to accommodate more applications for your program. If approved you will be able to finish the application at that time and you will have 10 days to submit all materials to our office.

I am a fall 2015 transfer applicant from China. The system requires me to submit all grades from fall 2014 courses to complete my application. (official transcripts have been accepted by U of I but they do not contain all grades for fall 2014 courses) At my institution, some of the grades from Fall 2014 term will not become available in the system until about 3/24, when all the grade checking requests are processed. This is beyond the material deadline of 3/12. And when the new official transcripts are ready, it will take about one more week to mail them to UIUC.
What should I do? Could I submit an unofficial transcript NOW through internet which contains the grades from Fall 2014 courses to complete my application (I’m certain that these grades can be verified by the official transcripts later on)? (Actually I’ve sent one to but I’m not sure that would be acceptable.)
I really love UIUC and I want my application to be reviewed with all the information needed.

Thank you so much!

Hi April,

I have just been admitted to the College of Engineering as a to-be freshman in the fall. I want to visit campus, and I have signed up for the Admitted Transfer Day on Friday, March 20th because that is the only convenient day for me this month. I am aware that I am not a transfer student; can I still attend this event, and will I still benefit from it? Please advise me.

After being accepted as a transfer and receiving the Unofficial Transfer Course Evaluation Report, when do I get a final word on exactly which courses my accepted credits apply to? Ex. equivalencies listed as LAS 1– 125, TENG 1– 120 etc.? I would hate to accept and then find out for example that my CS courses only counted as gen eds or something.

Hello April,
My transfer application was completed on March 15. When will I receive admission decision ? Also, I checked on website that all majors for Fall 2015 are ‘closed’. So, are there any available spaces for transfer applicants whose major is Math & Computer Sci in LAS college? Will my application be reviewed same as someone’s who submitted app in February?

Hi April,

A friend’s son who is a freshman at a top Chinese universtiy is considering transferring to UIUC. Is it too late for Fall 2015 application? Are the credits fully transferrable? Are SAT and TOEFL scores required? Thanks.

Is undeclared easy to transfer into as a sophomore?

Hi April. I am a freshman at a top Chinese university and eagerly want to transfer to UIUC because I have taken some courses set by UIUC from coursera and find it a dreamful place for me to learn. I’ve scored well in TOFEL AND SAT, but not scored high in GPA for spending a lot of time preparing these two tests. Is it possible for me to be admitted? What should I prepare for spring applicants.
