Road Trip!

I grew up in the Chicago land area and graduated from the University of Illinois.  Before I visited the campus, I thought it was very, very far away.  Words like downstate, overnight trip, and over 4 hours were commonplace.   I was wrong.  Champaign-Urbana is only between a 2- to 3-hour trip.  If you are interested in taking a trip to Central Illinois to visit the University of Illinois, here are a few ways:

Amtrak has very cheap prices to and from Champaign.  You can take a nice, relaxing ride to the University of Illinois.  Once at the train station, you can take Uber, Lyft, or use the bus system (CUMTD) to get to campus.

It is an easy trip south on I-57.  Make sure your family comes with and enjoy some songs on the way down.  You can learn some Illinois’ songs to sing on the way back. #IllinoisLoyalty

Well…maybe you shouldn’t run to campus from Chicago.  It might take a while.

Regardless how you decide to come visit the University of Illinois, remember to create a myIllini account.  It is the best way to receive information specific to your interests, to apply, and to set up a visit to Illinois.  I hope to see you on campus soon!
