I am thrilled to write for the admissions blog at the University of Illinois! My name is Kaci, and I joined the undergraduate admissions team as an admissions counselor in May 2016. In addition to aiding freshman and transfer students looking at and applying to Illinois, I work extensively with our large campus visit programs to give our prospective students first-hand experience of life at Illinois.
I grew up in and around Champaign-Urbana, but most recently I moved from northwest Ohio where I finished my master’s degree in College Student Personnel. While my professional experience has taken me across the country facilitating leadership development and recruitment initiatives, there is truly no place like home! I can grab coffee with my grandparents and visit my parents’ puppies (and my parents, too) all in the same day … what could be better?
College is the most exciting, scary, rewarding, challenging (the list goes on!) time. My favorite part about being an admissions counselor is helping our prospective students start to write their Illinois journey. This blog is a way for us to connect about topics that we know are important to you!
Other topics we can talk about: Hamilton, #ShondaThursdays, puppies, running, and eating (there are so many great restaurants in C-U). Anyways …
Whether virtually, at a college fair, or on campus, I look forward to being a resource for you as you are learning more about Illinois!
