Steven's Bio

Hi! My name is Steven, and I’m a sophomore from New Canaan, Connecticut, studying Management Entrepreneurship and Political Science. On campus, I serve as the President of the Illinois Sports Business Conference and as a Business Development Specialist at a startup website.

So, why Illinois?

The University of Illinois has granted me truly special opportunities that consistently contribute to my growth both in and out of the classroom. My story is not a unique one, either. Students from all corners of campus are pursuing their passions through our incredible resources and people each and every day.

When I came to campus, I was passionate about business and sports. Growing up, I tried to play as many sports as possible; being a sports fan was a huge part of my life and how I developed meaningful relationships. While I was never going to be the first pick in the NFL Draft, I knew I wanted to be involved in that world in one way or another. Knowing this, I joined the Illinois Sports Business Conference my freshman year. This in and of itself is part of why Illinois is so special. Even the relatively niche interest of sports business had an incredible organization already established on campus, ready for me. After a year of hard work and dedication (a requirement for success here at Illinois), I applied for and was named the second-ever president of the organization. Through this one aspect of my Illinois experience, I’ve developed strong business skills and met some outstanding friends.

The University of Illinois is built for the driven. Wherever you may turn in your collegiate career, odds are there will be plenty of people ready to help you along the way. And while there is a good chance you may find inspiration and impressive people at other universities, it is a near guarantee here.

Please feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions. I look forward to helping in any way I can.
