Winter Festival at Krannert Center Offers Finals Respite!
In making your decisions about your future at college, surely the looming threat of finals has crossed your mind. But you don’t have to worry! A campus like the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Krannert Center specifically has many great opportunities to escape from the stress of those dreaded tests. In addition to the regularly scheduled performances, including holiday classics like The Nutcracker and presentations by many School of Music ensembles, Krannert Center also puts on its annual Winter Festival.
Come cozy up to some live jazz and whip up a last minute gift with the inventive folks from The I.D.E.A. Store, who will show you how to turn some recycled items into a nifty craft! You can even help give back to the community by participating in the Warm-a-Kid Drive, sponsored by the Dr. Marshall K. Berner Family Information Center of the Champaign Unit 4 School District. A decorated tree will serve as the Warm-a-Kid drop off, where you can donate mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, ear muffs, and coats to help keep children in the Champaign area warm this winter.
With events like this and many others on campus, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a warm environment that will keep you going, even in the midst of finals week.
So if you’re on campus this year, don’t forget to wipe the stress of finals away and spread a little cheer at the Winter Festival on Sunday, December 9 at 4pm in Krannert Center for the Performing Arts‘ Lobby.
