Before arriving on campus as a freshman, I was thinking of methods that could help me remember my journey at the university. I thought of getting a box and putting items that represent small memories that I would be making here. However, knowing how I am, I would not be able to keep up with that. So, it would not work out in my favor. As a result, I had the idea of creating a playlist for my freshman year. Within that year, I would try to add songs every day that I would listen to. If I ever stumbled upon a song that I considered good, I would add that song in the playlist. The reason behind doing this project is to later listen to the playlist and reflect on the memories that you have experienced throughout your college experience. That even includes the positive and especially the negative moments that have impacted you as a college student. You will see how much you’ve grown over the years if you decide to this every year. Some apps that you can use can be either Apple Music or Spotify. If those options aren’t available, you can always create a playlist on YouTube!
Since I am in my third year of college, I have kept up with this mini side project that I have. In total, I have three playlists that belong to my freshman, sophomore, and current junior year as a college student. It is funny listening to the songs that I was obsessed with in the past. It gives this sense of accomplishment and nostalgia because I was able to overcome previous years of my academia. No matter your major, it will be a hard experience! Hopefully, this playlist project will ease that experience into a more comforting journey.
Not only will it be a good way to be nostalgic throughout your college career, but it is a good stress reliever! You can set up a time to just listen to your playlist and share it with your friends. It is always a good time to have a small break to catch up and stream your tunes away.
