Is Parkland Pathway the Right Fit for Me?

Parkland Pathway is perfect for students who are interested in beginning their college experience at Parkland and then transferring to UIUC later. This opportunity is open to Illinois high school graduates as well as students who have received their GED from the state of Illinois. Please note that current and former University of Illinois students are unable to apply for this program.

There are many benefits of enrolling in the Parkland Pathway program. Check them out below:

  • Personalized academic advising from both Parkland and Illinois
  • Enrolling in UIUC courses at a prorated discount
  • Access to UIUC resources (such as University Housing, recreation centers, our transit system, etc.)
  • Guaranteed admission to UIUC as long as all requirements are fulfilled

Here are a few more things you need to know about Parkland Pathway: 

1. How to Apply

Because this is a dual admissions program, students must apply both to Parkland College and separately to UIUC by submitting the Parkland Pathway to Illinois application through myIllini. The Parkland College application is available September 1 through April 5. The Parkland Pathway to Illinois application opens March 5 and is due April 5. Be sure to accept or decline your offer prior to May 1.

*Completion of the proctored mathematics assessments (ALEKS) by April 5 through Parkland College is an additional requirement for Parkland Pathway Grainger College of Engineering applicants.

2. Majors

Several majors and concentrations are available for Parkland Pathway students. You can see the full list here.

3. Financial Aid

Financial aid is awarded by Parkland College while the student is enrolled in Parkland Pathway. After transferring to Illinois, financial aid will be awarded through Illinois.

4. Admitted Next Steps
