The application is in … now what?

Applying to college and deciding where to spend the next four years of your education is important, just like how the application process is important. Getting caught up in the stress of it is easy, but recognizing that you’re getting caught up in the stress of it all is huge. Allowing yourself to grow in self-awareness in this time is a skill you will thank yourself for later. If I could give any advice to you, going through this college application season right now, it would be this:

Challenge yourself to remain in the present moment. Stay true to yourself, especially in all of your college applications. Colleges want to know who YOU are. Have confidence in yourself to stay true to you, no matter how easy it would be to fall into the temptation of being “who they want to see.” Trust the work that you have put in is enough and is going to provide for you. You haven’t spent the last 4 years of high school in the tough classes and in all the clubs for nothing.

Enjoy this time of your life! It’s one that is supposed to be fun and stress-free. Getting nervous for acceptance letters into your dream school is common and it is very, very normal. Let yourself feel all of those emotions, but remember that you’ve been given the gifts and the abilities to get yourself to that next level. Trust that, trust yourself, and have fun!
